Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
Dear Parents,
In order to provide the best learning environment possible, it is important that classroom rules are established and followed by all students. My classroom rules are:
1. Listen when others are talking.
2. Follow directions.
3. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
4. Work quietly and do not disturb others.
5. Show respect for school and personal property
6. Work and play in a safe manner.
I use an “I Can Manage Myself!” card system. Each child has a green, yellow and red card. The goal is to keep the green card showing. If a rule is broke after one warning I will ask your child to move his/her card from green to yellow and he/she will lose 5 minutes of recess. If another rule is broken that same day he/she will be asked to move his/her card to red and a whole recess will be lost and a note will be sent home to the parent. On some occasions where behavior is severe students will go directly from a green card to a red card. It is possible for a student to be on yellow and moved back to green if behavior has shown improvement throughout the day. A daily behavior chart will be in your child's folder for you to see how he/she did each day.
